Amsterdam's sixth race, with a Global Theme shared with photo marathons around the world and an awards evening at the Volkshotel.

In 2016 the Urban Photo Race returned to Amsterdam for the sixth time. What mattered to the team was not who finished first, but that people came, did their best and enjoyed the day.

Over the years the most valuable thing has been the network of photographers that grew around the race. The team thanked Marta Orlando, Ian Vennik and Beatriz Pineda for their help on race day, every checkpoint location, and every racer who turned the themes into photographs.

The Amsterdam Urban Photo Race 2016 was again very successful, tiring and inspiring! Thanks for organizing it again and see you all in 2017!

Global Theme: "Perfect Place"

Amsterdam joined the international network of photo marathons again, with a Global Theme, "Perfect Place", shared with cities such as Dublin, Shenyang, Nice, Patras, Copenhagen and Berlin. Its three winners are in the photographs below.

The awards evening at the Volkshotel

On Sunday 9 October the winners were celebrated at the Volkshotel, with racers, friends, partners and many curious visitors, and the photographs looked even better big and on a wall. Jury chair Fokko Muller told the room how carefully he rates every photograph before he sends his selection, and every winner received the prize in person, many after a long journey.
